Position Summary

As the Coordinator of Annual Giving, you play an important role in achieving the fundraising and engagement goals of the Annual Giving and larger University Advancement team. Your primary responsibilities involve managing the Student Outreach Program (SOP) and fostering relationships with a designated portfolio of alumni to encourage their involvement and philanthropic contributions.

In this role, no two days are the same. Motivating and supervising a team of student staff in the SOP will require your enthusiasm and creativity. Additionally, you will build strong connections with a portfolio of alumni, inspiring their philanthropic engagement with their alma mater. This role provides the opportunity for travel to alumni cities of work and/or residence to conduct meetings focused on garnering leadership-level support.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

This is an entry-level position. A combination of experience in one or more of the following preferred: working in an office setting (internships included), fundraising/sales, and/or volunteer management or engagement.

Job Duties

* Fundraising:

* Cultivate and engage a portfolio of alumni, fostering meaningful connections, disseminating pertinent information, and encouraging active involvement. This role includes occasional travel for face-to-face engagement and solicitation of prospects.

* Take the lead in directly engaging with alumni prospects, working in close collaboration with the Annual Giving team. Drive engagement by solicitating for Elon Society gifts ($1,500). Your proactive and personable approach will be key in fostering a strong culture of philanthropy within our community.

* Contribute to fundraising success by positively contributing to key initiatives such as Elon Day, annual giving campaigns, and stewardship activities. Contribute to outreach endeavors, crafting impactful multi-channel communications, and undertaking diverse assigned responsibilities.

* Operations

* Manage the dynamic and fast-paced operations of the Student Outreach Program (SOP), leading a team of enthusiastic student staff who directly solicit alumni, parents, and friends for leadership annual gifts.

* Build and manage a motivated student team by recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training students who are passionate about making a difference. Oversee their professional growth with ongoing coaching and hands-on training in fundraising, communication, and solicitation best practices.

* Leverage Raiser's Edge and Excel to identify key constituents and design impactful outreach strategies. Collaborate with Advancement Services to ensure data accuracy and integrity, keeping operations running seamlessly.

* Partner with the Assistant Director to streamline and enhance internal operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all program functions including but not limited to first-time donor communications and stewardship events.

* Support Elon University events and projects (Move In, Commencement Week, etc.) and University Advancement events and projects (Homecoming & Reunion Weekend, regional events, Family Weekend, mailing/shipping fulfillment, etc.).

* Communications and Engagement

* Energize engagement with alumni prospects by seamlessly connecting on Advancement and University priorities. Utilize a dynamic mix of email, mailings, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings-whether on Elon's campus or in alumni cities of work or residence. Transform routine outreach into exciting connections that resonate with the vibrancy of Elon's mission.

* Deliver exceptional customer service to our constituents with a commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and urgency.

* Shape impactful and engaging communication strategies for the Student Outreach Program. Responsibilities include crafting compelling call scripts, voicemail messages, and text content that resonate with students and inspire action; strategically building and refining outreach lists to ensure the right messages reach the right audiences.
