If you'd like to know more, check out all of the .JOB SUMMARYThis position is responsible for providing comprehensive support to international students, developing and implementing international programming, and fostering leadership development opportunities for all students. The Coordinator will play a critical role in enhancing the university's global engagement and promoting a campus environment that values diversity, inclusion, and student success.ESSENTIAL CUTIES International Student Support and Engagement
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement support services tailored to the unique needs of international students, including orientation, cultural adjustment, and academic integration.
  • In collaboration with the Intercultural Engagement Center, support students in the planning and execution of international programming initiatives that celebrate cultural diversity and global citizenship to enhance cross-cultural understanding within the campus community.
  • Collaborate with other campus departments to ensure seamless support for international students, including Residence Life, Academic Affairs, and Enrollment Management.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of programs and services, utilizing data to inform continuous improvement efforts.
  • Stay current on trends and best practices in international student services, programming, and student leadership development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Student Leadership Development
  • Facilitate workshops, retreats, and training sessions focused on leadership skills, team-building, and ethical decision-making for diverse student populations.
  • Liaise with Campus Activities and student clubs and organizations to provide mentorship and support that enhances leadership capacity and organizational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to create co-curricular programs that integrate leadership development into the student experience.
  • Evaluate program outcomes using data-driven approaches to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with institutional goals.
  • Assist the NUSGA, attend meetings, and support student leaders, working with the NUSGA Graduate Assistant on event planning, travel, and budgeting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Strong knowledge of international student needs, immigration regulations, and cross-cultural communication strategies.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver engaging programming for diverse student populations.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with student leadership development theories and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and database management systems.
  • Knowledge of multiple languages and experience living or studying abroad preferred
ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTSThe functions of the position are primarily performed sitting but may require standing, walking, and occasional lifting. Tasks involve extensive use of a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment. The position also requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in International Education, Higher Education Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience working in international student services, student leadership development, or related areas. Experience in a university setting is preferred.
  • Additional Qualifications: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; excellent communication and customer service skills; and a passion for supporting student success.
