POSITION OVERVIEW: The Coordinator of Professional Growth and Student Support will play an essential role in educator development and sustainability. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, possess a strong background in curriculum design, professional development, and instructional leadership, and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing teaching and learning practices district-wide. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
- 3-5 years teaching experience.
- Proven ability to develop and facilitate professional development programs and workshops.
- Expertise in standards-based education and curriculum design.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in educational technology and learning management systems.
- Experience working with a diverse team and fostering inclusive educational practices.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES:
- Leadership in curriculum and professional development planning.
- Knowledge of best practices in teacher induction and orientation.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities.
- Familiarity with standards-based grading systems and assessment tools.
- Technical skills for supporting online learning platforms and troubleshooting.
PREFERRED:
- 3-5 years of School Principal Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in curriculum development, instructional leadership, or related areas
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:
- Educator Development and Sustainability:
- Lead the district's new teacher induction and orientation programs, fostering an environment that promotes growth and community among new hires.
- Collaboratively develop and support demonstration classrooms that exemplify best practices in curriculum delivery and instruction.
- Coordinate and lead professional development opportunities that align to department goals.
- Manage and enhance the ASU MEETs (Mapleton Educator Empowerment Teams) Program, promoting nontraditional teacher collaboration models within district schools.
- Collaborate with University Partners to obtain and place student teachers.
- Support School Directors with EA and IA plans at school sites.
- Support school GT Leads in the completion and implementation of ALP plans.
- Oversee district GT Programming including
- District family GT events
- Identification and support for GT learners
- Oversee department READ plans
- Oversee the annual curriculum refresh process, ensuring schools get the materials they need to provide universal instruction for all students.
