This vision embodies our commitment to being a welcoming, inclusive, and mission-driven parish, excited to see how God will continue to work through us in the coming years.Primary Function:The Coordinator of the Friendship Room (Community Meal Program) will be central to the mission of the Center of Charity, ensuring compassionate and non-judgmental service to all who seek support within All Saints Parish. Given the Center's volunteer-driven foundation, the Facilitator will oversee daily operations, nurturing an environment of respect, trust, and inclusivity that reflects the values of All Saints. This role involves guiding and empowering volunteers to contribute creatively and independently, fostering a sense of community and shared mission. Additionally, the Coordinator will engage with the public, collaborate with other community organizations, and represent the Center within the parish community, ensuring alignment with the overarching vision of All Saints. This role reports directly to the Director of the Center of Charity. It also includes working closely with All Saints' administrative team, keeping comprehensive records, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations to meet the standards set by the Health Department and other agencies. The community meal program operations Monday through Saturday with meal service at 4 pm.Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Oversee daily operations with a calm and supportive presence.
  • Ensure the dining area is orderly and welcoming for all guests.
  • Coordinate and support volunteers to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with basic financial tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Build positive relationships with guests, volunteers, and partner organizations.
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Compassionate Leadership: Ability to engage and support both volunteers and those served in a compassionate, non-judgmental, and cooperative manner that upholds the mission of All Saints Parish.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities, including managing daily operations and overseeing multiple tasks to ensure a smooth and welcoming environment.
  • Financial Acumen: Basic understanding of finances, including budgeting and record- keeping for efficient and transparent management following all Parish policies.
  • Public Engagement: Skilled in representing the Center of Charity through public speaking, written communication, and building collaborative relationships with other community organizations.
  • Culinary and Nutrition Knowledge: Proficient in cooking with mandated training in nutrition (e.g., Serv-Safe certification) to maintain high standards in food safety and quality.
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills for effective communication, scheduling, and record management, with an ability to adapt to new systems as needed.
Education and Experience:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in social work, Nonprofit Management, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
  • Certification: in food safety and nutrition, such as Serv-Safe, preferred.
  • Experience: Community Service: 1-3 years of experience working or volunteering in a community service, social work, or nonprofit setting. Prior experience leading or coordinating volunteers in a community or faith-based setting.
