Position Summary The Global Partner Resources team is tasked with facilitating partner onboarding through departure, all changes and activities in between for active partners and all support needed after transitioning out of the partnership (whether by resignation, separation or retirement). Working as part of the Global Partner Resources team, the Partner Resources Coordinator has primary responsibility for (i) supporting all activities related to partner departures and retirements; (ii) supporting the internal partner promotion process ( NPP ); (iii) delivering human resources support for current and former partners; (v) aiding all aspects of partner operations; and (iv) supporting all activities overseen by the Global Head of Partner Resources ( GHPR ), Associate Director of Partner Resources ( ADPR ), and Partner Resources Specialists ( PRS ). The Coordinator will support the GHPR, ADPR and PRSs on several projects and processes related to offboarding (including retirement) of partners and facilitating the transition to newly promoted partners. The Coordinator is expected to execute these projects/processes through completion, make relevant decisions and collaborate with other team members and other functional areas as necessary. The role has very high partner interaction and visibility, often times with the most sensitive of matters and information. This position will also be involved in activities and matters supporting senior partners and Firm leadership including but not limited to the Office of the Chair, Vice Chair, Executive Committee, Partnership Committee, Office of the General Counsel and Regional Section Heads.
Duties and Accountabilities 1 - Assist with the day-to-day operations of all withdrawals from the partnership whether by resignation, retirement, mutual separation or death, both through and beyond withdrawal date including, but not limited to, cross-functional coordination with other teams (OGC, Records and Governance, Partner Compensation, Tax, Pension, Benefits, and local IT and administrative teams).
- Assist with preparations and drafting of all documentation related to partner departures and retirements including but not limited to Departure Memos, Departure Letters, Alumni Forms, notification emails and any other relevant agreements, documents or emails.
- Organize and ensure completion of all PRG actions in the Firm's partner departure protocol. Assist with all partner offboarding steps including any necessary follow-up activities. Work directly with ADPR, PRS and with withdrawing partners as needed to field administrative questions and concerns.
- Assist GHPR, ADPR, Finance Manager of Partner Resources and PRS with drafting annexes and related tax communications for contract partner conversions, departures and retirements.
- Assist PRS with updates to and audits of the Master Former Partner List; maintaining retired partner distribution lists and supporting PRS with the Firm's retiree email project. Support with retired partner email account set-up, maintenance and shut down in collaboration with technology and RIG colleagues.
- Assist PRS with executing the annual internal NPP process with the GHPR and ADPR including communications plan, scheduling support for all new partner candidate interviews, collection and organization of all candidate materials, assisting with the candidate presentation and general administrative tasks as needed related to the NPP process.
- Assist with the background and bar verification process for the NPP process.
- Aid in the drafting of legal agreements, contracts and other related documents for partners (including, but not limited to, Contract Partner Agreements, Conversion Agreements, Separation Agreements, Retirement Agreements, Of Counsel Agreements, etc.) with the GHPR, ADPR and PRS.
- Assist with the maintenance of partner information in PeopleSoft/Workday such as contact information, personal details (i.e., marital status), title changes, departures and retirements, promotions to partner and updates to compensation.
- Process partner changes, along with assisting with transfers, leaves, and arrivals as needed.
- Help to accurately process and format all documents, contracts and presentations as required by the team.
- Keep checklists accurately up-to-date as they relate to partner processes as needed.
- Draft employment/income verification letters for partners.
- Assist with producing reports other special projects as requested by the GHPR, ADPR and PRS as needed.
- Support scheduling and calendaring PRG meetings as it relates to the new partner process and partner departures/retirements.
- Backup to the ADPR and PRS, in general.
Qualifications - Bachelor's/College Degree in any field
- A minimum of 3 years prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred
- Proficiency in the use of the Firm's software, in particular, PeopleSoft, Workday, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Has a basic understanding of concepts relating to finance and human resource information systems, compensation and reports generation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Effectively communicates with credibility and confidence and can effectively interact at all levels of the organization and is highly responsive
- Ability to coordinate across cross-border and cross-functional teams towards a common goal
- Must have great attention to detail and possess excellent organizational skills

- Ability to learn and understand the details and complications of partner benefits and pension plans, partner compensation, capital and taxes (including foreign taxes)
- Willing to work during non-business hours including nights and weekends when needed
Location & Reporting - This is a hybrid role based in New York
