About the Role:As a key member of our Student Affairs Division, you will implement engaging co-curricular programs that enhance community development, foster leadership, and promote student success. You'll work closely with various student organizations, including the Residence Hall Program Board and Residence Hall Council, helping to create unforgettable experiences for our students.Key Responsibilities:Program Implementation:Design and execute co-curricular programs that encourage student engagement and retention within our residence halls.Vendor Management:Negotiate contracts with vendors and artists to bring exciting events and entertainment to our students, while liaising with other departments to ensure seamless programming.Leadership Development:Oversee the selection process for residence hall organization executive boards and coordinate comprehensive training workshops.Administrative Excellence:Assist in managing organization budgets, assess student programs, and compile insightful reports to enhance our initiatives.Collaboration:Attend weekly meetings with professional staff and student organizations to stay connected and engaged with the campus community.Additional Position Information:What We're Looking For:Education:A Bachelor's degree is required, a Master's degree is preferred.Experience:Minimum of 2 year working with student programming boards or similar initiatives, with strong skills in advising and student development.Skills:Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills, along with experience in multimedia platforms and social media engagement.Physical Requirements:The role involves a comfortable working environment, primarily seated, with occasional light lifting.Why Join Us?At The University of Akron, you will be part of a vibrant community dedicated to student growth and engagement.
