The marketing proofreader/editor/copywriter will work closely with the manager, Brand Standards to review/edit/proofread copy of materials prior to graphic design. Position requires great attention to detail with a sharp eye. AP Style familiarity is required. This position will also assist with job tracking.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Proofread and edit copy for marketing communications (brochures, booklets, flyers, digital content, etc.) before job is submitted for graphic design for grammar, spelling, AP style and brand consistency
- Review all materials to ensure consistent voice/content, making sure print copy mirrors web copy (or vice versa)
- Review marketing requests/job tracking via online form for completeness of submitted materials and follow up with requesters prior to assigning to graphic designers
- Edit/revise material submitted by subject matter experts/service lines to develop and inject brand messaging into content.
- Draft physician bio card copy, based on their CV, and send for review prior to design. Once the card is designed and approved, hand off to web team on a monthly basis to update the website.
- Revise copy between service line/marketing manager to ensure copy is creative, attention-grabbing, and effective and written at 6th grade level
- Proofread miscellaneous print and e-newsletters, monthly news e-mailings, physician letters, etc.
- Statistical reporting using Excel spreadsheets. Tracking and maintaining reports on bio card requests and their progress through the design/approval process.
- Provide SurveyMonkey recap and marketing request and rush request statistics on a monthly basis
- Liaison between marketing communications team and strategic sourcing for rebranding, as needed
- Take on special projects, tbd by marketing manager
- Maintain list of Company and site award announcements and people news for reference
- Annual updating of Company Style Guide for department reference using internal guidelines and AP Stylebook
Skills:
- Bachelor s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, advertising or English
- Minimum 3 to 5 years writing experience in a health care environment
- Exceptional writing, proofreading, interviewing and research skills
- Excellent listening skills, flexible and energetic
- Ability to balance multiple projects, deadlines, and changing priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
