Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation is the umbrella organization that supports the activities of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ailey II, The Ailey School, Ailey Arts In Education & Community Programs and the Ailey Extension. Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is hailed as cultural ambassador to the world by the U.S. Congress and is renowned for its stellar performances, high-caliber dance training, and innovative educational initiatives which reach nearly 500,000 people around the globe each year. Robert Battle, Artistic Director, continues the pioneering work of Alvin Ailey and furthers the development of a cultural community which provides dance performances, training, and community programs for all people.The Ailey organization has a rich and inspiring history rooted in African-American traditions and provides young people with a range of role models within its group of experienced instructors. Ailey Extension employs part-time instructors to teach students on its weekly schedule classes.Ailey Extension instructor reports to the Director, Lisa Johnson-Willingham and is responsible for supporting the mission of the Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation and providing the highest caliber instruction to all students.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Instructors should demonstrate expertise working in a particular dance technique(s) as a professional artist and educator.
