We are currently looking for a Corporate Controller for our DuBois, PA finance office (100 miles radius of Pittsburgh, PA). We are looking for someone who is confident in decision making, diligent, and has excellent communication skills. The successful candidate must be highly detailed oriented, function in a team environment and be able to prioritize tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Closing: Overseeing the closing process with a goal to shorten the cycle to a best-in-class timeline
* Communicate closing schedule to FP&A and Operations each month
* Provide updates during the closing process to FP&A and Operations (Prophix/system issues, adjusting journal entries recorded, etc.)
* Manage the circulating inventory process (document process, maintain GL balances, communicate with CFO and auditors)
Financial reporting: Overseeing the preparation and management of financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
* Cash flow management - create a reporting framework and manage the cash flow cycle. Drive initiatives to improve cash flow.
Compliance: Ensuring that accounting activities comply with financial and accounting regulations, such as GAAP and IFRS reporting requirements.
Audit Support - Lead the audit support process with the external auditors including year and audit, sales and use tax, etc.
M&A Support - Lead the purchase accounting relating to M&A activities.
Budgeting: Preparing and managing the corporate budgets in conjunction with the VP of Finance, and analyzing financial results, trends, and costs
Tax reporting and compliance: Preparing tax schedules and forms to provide to the parent company tax manager for filing, and ensuring that all corporate income tax compliance is accurate
Policies and procedures: Creating and implementing policies and procedures to identify, resolve, and document accounting issues. Establish a control process to ensure compliance from all Divisions of the Company.
Financial risk assessments: Performing financial risk assessments and doing internal audits
Financial decisions: Assisting the CFO with corporate financial decisions
Team management: Overseeing the accounting staff
Project Management: Assist the CFO on driving profitability improvements and managing projects related to those improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance from an accredited college or university in a work-related discipline or field. A master's degree in accounting is a plus
* Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
* A minimum of six years professional experience in accounting
* Strong Understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations
* Demonstrated people skills and ability to cultivate and maintain relationships at all levels
