About The Position General privacy compliance, corporate and transactional matters, including:
- Drafting data processing agreements for customer and vendor relationships
- Analyzing proposals for collecting and processing personal data, and preparing data protection impact assessments
- Researching new privacy laws and analyzing the application of developing laws to business operations
- Administering established privacy compliance controls to ensure a robust state of compliance
- Simple and complex contract review and drafting.
- Entity formation and corporate housekeeping, including supporting Finance/Tax Departments in effecting internal tax planning transactions.
- Drafting and negotiating documents for business acquisitions and other complex transactions
- Coordinating with local counsel on various matters related to Copart's foreign subsidiaries.
- A variety of other non-litigation matters Experience & Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Minimum of three years' experience in a sophisticated law firm or in-house legal department, but an advanced level of experience required for the independent management of complex matters.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Results-oriented, with strong attention to detail and the ability to initiate and adapt to change.
- Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal issues and learn new subject matter.
- Able to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
- Strong command of general legal principles
