Responsibilities:
- Advises business leaders on identifying and mitigating litigation risks.
- Develops and implements creative dispute resolution strategies.
- Manages outside counsel to ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Manages all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation advice through trial and appeal.
- Collaborates closely with others provide legal counsel on a broad range of items including, employee relations, M&A, real estate transactions, leases, claims (bond, insurance, payment/non-payment, bankruptcy) etc.
- Assists project teams in requesting time extensions and associated financial compensation, from notice, to schedule analysis, to cost quantification, to presentation in front of finder of fact.
- Reviews, drafts and negotiates contracts and labor agreements.
- Addresses subpoenas and discovery requests.
- Reviews and consults on prequalification submittals.
- Prepares witnesses for testimony.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years of experience
- Construction experience preferred
- Admission to a State Bar
- Litigation experience preferred
