About the Company - Phoenix Pro Connect is assisting a prominent developer of multifamily affordable and workforce housing in Miami in their search for an experienced Paralegal. This role offers a unique opportunity to support essential legal processes and corporate governance within an organization dedicated to providing quality housing solutions.

About the Role - As a core member of the legal department, the Paralegal will work closely with Corporate Counsel and collaborate with Development, Finance, and Acquisitions teams to manage activities related to real estate transactions, corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters. This position will play a critical role in facilitating the development of affordable housing communities.

Responsibilities

  • Document Management:
  • Prepare, review, and organize a variety of legal documents, including real estate and finance contracts, corporate governance materials, and construction documents.
  • Draft and manage legal templates and coordinate document reviews with Corporate Counsel and outside legal teams.
  • Due Diligence Support:
  • Assist with property due diligence, including title orders, surveys, and environmental reports, coordinating with outside counsel and public agencies.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Coordination:
  • Ensure compliance with housing regulations, such as LIHTC, and manage corporate filings, including annual reports, IRS submissions, and regulatory filings.

  • Transaction Facilitation:
  • Act as a liaison among internal teams, outside counsel, lenders, and regulatory agencies to coordinate schedules, documents, and signatures for seamless closings.

  • Legal Research and Administrative Support:
  • Conduct legal research, support Corporate Counsel with daily operations, and maintain organized legal files and databases for easy access.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's degree or higher in paralegal studies or related field.
  • Experience: At least 2 years as a paralegal in real estate or corporate transactions. Experience with affordable housing, development, or construction is a plus.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, PDF review software, and Smartsheet. Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Certification: Paralegal certification preferred.
