The main responsibility is to teach an intensive job preparation curriculum and build a bridge for continued services in the community to offenders preparing for Mandatory Supervised Release.   • In cooperation with other instructors concerned prepare and revise curriculum to instruct offenders in job preparedness.
  • Teach classes in career technology as assigned by the Associate Dean.
  • In cooperation with others make recommendations on curriculum materials.
  • Report attendance and grades as prescribed by the Associate Dean.
  • Attend faculty meetings called by the administrative officers.
  • Be on the work site for 37.5 hours per week. (30 minute lunch)
  • Arrive at work site prior to beginning of established shift.
  • Arrive at the classroom prior to the scheduled class time.
  • Serve on such committees for the betterment of the College as may be established by the administration and faculty.
  • Assist in registration as needed.
  • Consider the general and special needs of the student. Assist students in meeting needs or solving problems when necessary seek additional help from other college services.
  • Observe support and enforce the regulations policies and programs of the College and inform your supervisor in writing of any problem that might have a detrimental effect on the College.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner.
  • Notify the appropriate supervisor well in advance of absences.
  • Maintain inventory and control of flammable and caustics.
  • Maintain accurate control of tools and keys on assignment.
  • Prepare task lists and attendance reports as required.
  • Maintain hourly count check on students.
  • Assist institutional personnel during emergency situations.
  • Prepare grant related reports as needed.
  • Provide advisement and testing as needed.
  • Comply with Illinois Department of Corrections Regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain Equipment assigned to area.

Employees may also elect to purchase additional supplemental insurance for themselves, as well as spouse or civil union partner, and their dependent children. Spouses and dependents cannot exceed the amount of the employee's optional benefit.Voluntary BenefitsLake Land College offers Voluntary Short-Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Pet Insurance, Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness, and Accident Insurance at group rates paid by employees. Flexible Spending AccountFull-time employees can elect through payroll deduction to establish a flexible spending account for qualified medical or dependent care expenses incurred during the plan year. These elections are made on a pre-tax basis to save the employee federal and state income taxes. Employees enrolled on a medical flexible spending account can carry over up to $500 from one plan year to the next.Medical InsuranceLake Land College offers two health plan options -one Traditional PPO health plan and one High Deductible health plan with a compatible Health Savings Account.
