Our team oversees the day-to-day healthcare operations in facilities with inmate populations ranging from 25 to nearly 2,800 inmates. Our medical staff are afforded the opportunity to utilize their medical skills to their fullest capacity in a safe, secure, and unconventional environment.All offers of employment at TK Health Clinics and TK Health Clinicians are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check.Locations:Washington County Jail Akron CO and Morgan County Jail Fort Morgan COPosition:JBBS Licensed Mental Health CounselorFull Time Working 2 locationsThe role of the counselor is to assess, evaluate and coordinate mental health care for incarcerated individuals and formulate individualized release plans to coordinate a continuum of careAssesses psychiatric emergencies and provides crisis intervention to emotionally distressed and mentally ill inmatesConducts evaluations of inmates for the purpose of suicide intervention and preventionCoordinates inmate care with Facility, and Medical staff to ensure inmates' special needs are addressedMAT/substance abuse counselingDevelops Individualized Treatment Plans for psychiatric inmates who require intensive behavior management; completes referrals to Provider for medication management servicesPromotes linkages with community mental health agencies, other support services and families for inmate care and coordination for continuum of care; including discharge planning; collaborates with community health providers for inmates who are enrolled clientsCompletes inmate need assessments and develops individualized release plans for inmates suffering from mental illness to connect inmates with appropriate services in the communityMaintains the safety and security of staff and inmates when making clinical decisions regarding inmatesParticipates in on-call responsibilities for off-hours MHP coverageProvides mental health training for jail staff as neededCompletes other job duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:A Master's degree in social work, clinical psychology, psychiatric nursing, or related field; OR, any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
