Responsible for supervision of clients' day-to-day activities. Provide custody and security oversight to clients within the residential re-entry facility. The residential re-entry program provides services to individuals previously incarcerated and works closely with the Federal Bureau of Prisons as well as US Probation cases. Maintaining order within the facility and enforcing all rules, regulations, and policies. Maintain adequate records of resident activities while promoting positive and holistic participation of all residents reintegrating back into society.This is a part-time (12 hours) position working Saturday and Sunday 3p-9p. We provide primary care, dental, vision, behavioral health, pharmacy services, substance abuse services, school based health centers and more.Program Overview:For individuals transitioning from closed custody correctional facilities, Cherry Health provides Person Centered Reentry Services to ease the transition back into the community. Services are available at two locations: our Community Treatment Center (CTC) in Detroit and Community Alternatives Program (CAP) in Grand Rapids. Services include 24-hour residential treatment in a structured environment with individual and group counseling services. Some participants come to us directly from a correctional facility, while others come as part of a diversion program to keep them out of prison. Together, we work to address health issues (including behavioral health issues) and other reentry needs i.e., employment, education, housing, and fostering connections to help justice system involved persons successfully reintegrate back into their respective communities.Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have a current valid Michigan driver's license and must be at least 23 years of age with 5 years of clean driving record.
  • CPR certification required or must be completed within the first week of employment
  • Associate Degree in Human Services, or Bachelor Degree in Social Work or related field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge or experience and/or training in correctional science or adult treatment preferred.
  • Three years direct care experience preferred.
  • Experience in mental health, substance abuse or correctional type residential program is highly desirable, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
Responsibilities:
  • Orientation and intake of all residents.
  • Assist clients with questions, problems, and/or concerns.
  • Maintain contact notes and documentation as required to audit-ready standards.
  • Monitor client activities at all times while on campus and within the community via random headcounts, accountability calls, and GPS tracking.
  • Assist clients with signing in and out of the facility.
  • Monitor client and visitor traffic at each facility at all times.
  • Conduct random and scheduled facility and client searches.
  • Conduct urinalysis testing.
  • Make randomly scheduled campus and facility perimeter checks at least once every half hour - hour during the shift.
  • Conduct randomly scheduled client counts at least three times per shift.
  • Report all concerning and/or atypical circumstances to the immediate supervisor, immediately.
  • Attend Monthly RCC and All Staff Meetings.
  • Ensure all residents are taking their medication as prescribed. Document and record dosage/time taken.
  • Pat search and breathalyze all residents when signing in and out of the facility, and randomly while in the program.
  • Distribute resident mail, meals, and bus tickets.
  • Transporting of residents via company vehicle.
  • Monitor daily sanitation of resident rooms and building.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must possess a strong sense of order and discipline.
  • Ability to work professionally with offenders and challenging clients in a fast-paced stressful environment.
  • Ability to move easily and quickly from one task to the next.
  • Excellent written skills for incident report documentation.
  • Strong verbal communication skills including de-escalation skills.
  • Must possess proficient computer skills.
  • Strong problem-solving Skills.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently.
