DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Corrections Activities Specialist within the Department of Corrections, your primary duties will encompass the organization, instruction, and oversight of various inmate programs, recreational activities, work crews, and sports initiatives at your designated facility. Your role will involve the meticulous scheduling, coordination, and delivery of programs tailored to a diverse range of interests and skill levels, focusing on sports, games, creative and performing arts, as well as social recreation. You will engage in coaching or providing assistance in coaching multiple sports disciplines, including basketball, soccer, and powerlifting, while also demonstrating fundamental sports techniques and the proper use of fitness equipment. Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.Work hours are 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Sunday - Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. A bachelor's degree with major course work in recreation and physical education; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
