Job DetailsJob Location Nespelem - Nespelem, WA Salary Range $20.99 - $23.63 Hourly DescriptionCLOSING DATE: Open until filled POSITION: Corrections Maintenance/Custodian SALARY: $20.99 - 23.63 per hour REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager LOCATION: Nespelem, WA Basic Functions: This is a non-exempt position. Incumbent is responsible for preventative maintenance, repairs and cleaning of all buildings and grounds owned by the Correctional Facility. Responsible for planning, programming, directing, monitoring and coordinating the Colville Tribes Correctional Facility's repair and maintenance program. Responsible for a complete system of real prope1ty, buildings and utilities program including: air quality, hazardous waste disposal clean environment, central heating, cooling, domestic water, key control, sewage, building security, sanitation, custodial and janitorial services, fire prevention and protection, safety and related functions including equipment repair and maintenance. QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Training:
- Requires high school diploma or GED AND a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in one or more building, mechanical, electrical or carpentry trades.
- May substitute, on a month-for-month basis, successful completion of technical school training in a particular trade, for experience to a maximum of twelve months with combined experience in custodial and grounds maintenance.
- Requires a valid driver's license and be eligible for the Tribes' vehicle insurance and maintain coverage throughout employment.
- Requires a valid First Aid and CPR certification, or the ability to obtain within 120 days of hire and maintain throughout employment.
- Must have no convictions for a felony or misdemeanor involving force, violence, or moral turpitude, and must have no violation of tribal policies.
- Must be able to provide copies of training certifications with application.
- Must provide a completed application, resume' and three (3) professional references.
- Incomplete or lack of required information may disqualify application.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools and equipment
- Knowledge of custodial equipment such as floor machines, sanitizers, extractors, steamers, etc.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary in general building maintenance work.
- Knowledge of general cleaning, grounds and the operation of tools and equipment used in maintenance/custodial work.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing and to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
- Ability to deal with and handle stressful situations.
- Ability to work independently and productively with minimal instructions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information encountered at work.
- Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Knowledge of safe work habits and safety procedures
- Technological abilities with various software programs, including but not limited to, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Maximo, etc.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working both independently and in a team oriented collaborative environment.
- Ability to create correspondents and reports.
- Ability to perform the essential responsibilities and work tasks of the position.
- Ability to establish and maintain congenial working relationships with other Tribal programs, outside business representatives and the public.
- Must maintain STRICT confidentiality standards and be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement for the Program.
- Ability to maintain a professional and positive work attitude and appropriate conduct with co-workers, supervisors, other agencies and the public.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
