Description
Under the supervision of the Health Records Supervisor is responsible for the high volume of incoming and outgoing correspondence generated through the Updox, mail and fax. Compiles, verifies and distributes by properly color coding the appropriate correspondence to the Medical staff and other ancillary departments. Ensures that all requests from Law Offices, Subpoena and Court orders are routed to immediate supervisor for proper instruction and release as per approved protocols. Ensures that correspondence such as letters, health records request and all agencies orders are signed and scanned in a timely manner. Responsible for compliance with other requirements impacting United Medical Centers such as State/Federal regulations, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA), Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH), Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), Quality Axis Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Standards, and Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance (QI/QA) and Americans with Disabilities Acts (ADA) Requirements. Requirements
Education:
1. High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience/Training:
1. Must have at least 1-year experience in the Health Record or Business Office Environment.
2. Computer experience in several program required.
3. Ability to type 35 wpm.
4. Filing experience required.
5. Familiar with medical terminology preferred.
6. General knowledge of clerical duties
7. Good communication skills.
