Meyer Utility Structures is currently looking to hire a Cost Accountant for our plant operation located in Hager City, WI. Reporting to the Plant Controller and Assistant Plant Manager, the Cost Accountant will support the facility by working closely with Finance, Operations and Human Resources to provide accurate payroll entry and adjustments plus labor entry and system reconciliation for daily tracking of facility's financial and production KPIs and metrics. Will assist senior management and Plant Controller in data mining cost, payroll, labor, spend, time and overtime, FTEs to costing, end of month tracking, accruing, balancing, calculating and resolution as well as perform basic administration and data entry as needed. This position will work indirectly to support other functional leaders in Production, Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement and Maintenance.

What You'll Do:
* Assist in preparation of daily transactions and the month-end financial closing process.
* Owner of the Daily Report, which entails working closely with Operations management on a daily basis.
* Calculate and review issues that occur between Finance, Labor and Operations.
* Review production costs by job and report on variances.
* Analyze cost data and report on operational results.
* Input cost information into ERP system and other subsystems.
* Support internal plant departments and business unit with information and report preparation as needed.
* Provide accounts payable support to invoices placed on hold by our corporate shared services and coordinate their release, and to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices.
* Participate in plant lean operating improvement projects.
* Assist in forecast and budget preparation.
* Analyze month-end and year-end reports to identify and recommend cost effective improvements.
* Ensure transactions made are in accordance with both Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal company policies.
* Systems review and analysis of KPI and metrics which affect the business unit.
* Analysis of various cost accounting, payroll, overtime, MRO spend as it affects daily budget of business unit.
* Assist with preparation and review of quarterly bonuses and payouts.
* Provide backup payroll support for hourly, salaried and salaried non-exempt employees.
* Support HR with analyzing and verifying payroll reports and documents for accuracy.
* Assist with various office administrative tasks as needed with the team.
What You'll Need:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with at least 5 years prior relevant experience (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
* Advanced computer skills and familiarity with ERP and other key operating systems (Jobscope JEE and Oracle is preferred).
* Strong Excel skills - including expertise in use of Pivot Tables and Macros.
* Previous experience working in an environment with a union workforce is desirable.
* Advanced math and calculating skills such as CPA or similar is a plus.
* Previous experience working in Kronos or ADP type payroll system.
* Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
