Job DescriptionThe Richmond Group USA (TRG) is excited to announce an opening for an ambitious Cost Accountant with an industry-leading global manufacturer located just northwest of Charlotte, NC. In this role, you will oversee costs from raw materials to finished products, analyze inventory and labor data, and collaborate with the Controller to optimize costs and enhance profitability. If this sounds like you, we'd love to connect!As a Cost Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial reporting and implementing strong financial controls. Your duties will encompass general accounting, cost accounting, financial analysis, and budgeting. Additionally, you will be key in regularly reviewing and updating procedures to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and Report Costs: Prepare and review cost reports for raw materials, work in progress, finished goods, and labor; compare standard and actual production data.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain and review inventory systems, including truck chassis, demo/R&D inventory, and adjustments; support the annual physical inventory process.
  • Cost System Oversight: Manage cost accounting systems for parts and equipment, ensuring data accuracy; analyze changes in product costs and their impact on margins.
  • Month-End and Financial Support: Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and calculations for inventory reserves and capitalization.
Qualifications:
  • Onsite Role: Must be able to work onsite at our manufacturing facility in Lincolnton, NC.
  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. May consider bachelor's degree in Engineering with Cost Accounting experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills and Attention to Detail: Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
