OBJECTIVE

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will analyze financial data, conduct cost analyses, and create reports to support decision-making and improve profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting, cost analysis, and financial modeling background.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

1. Gain a deep understanding of products, manufacturing processes and customers served

2. Experience with Standard Costs

3. Analyze and report material using variances

4. Analyze and report Purchase/Invoice Price Variances and coordinate with Procurement Department to minimize variances

5. Assist with the creation, presentation, and maintenance of meaningful daily, weekly, and monthly cost accounting reports and dashboards for use by managers and executives

6. Provide inventory accounting and analytics support for Cycle Counts and quarterly Physical Inventories

7. Internally audit Physical Inventory Counts

8. Perform inventory reconciliations to subledger, offsite reports, and Inventory Counts

9. Reconcile Actual Costs to General Ledger data and present for Fiscal Financial reviews

10. Liaison with Operations, Quality Control, and other leadership teams, especially during daily job close meetings

11. Assist with and/or leads ad hoc projects

12. Provide the company's expectation of customer service to internal and external customers

13. Recommend changes to the company's processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit

14. Aid in annual external audit requests

15. Assist with pricing all products and determining the required profit margin

16. Analyze and assess profitability (gross, contribution and net margin) by customer and product

17. Develop and maintain reporting tools for KPIs and CSIs associated with our Applied Strategic Plan

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in full-cycle accounting and cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing industry
  • Understanding of GAAP
  • Experience with Standard Costs
  • Experience with financial modeling and analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate the ERP platform
