Starting pay: $125,000 - $150,000 per year, based on experience.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Join our team as a Cost Controller and lead key cost accounting functions, including standard costing, BOMs, customer pricing, and inventory management. This role is part of the Accounting and Finance Department and emphasizes cross-functional communication. Duties & Responsibilities

Cost Systems Development & Maintenance:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard costing systems to ensure accurate product costing and financial reporting.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cost accounting functions and increase efficiency.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to cost accounting and plastics manufacturing.
  • Product Cost Analysis & Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyze bill of materials (BOMs), ensuring accuracy and consistency across all product lines.
  • Assist in preparation of customer pricing, accounting for standard, actual, and forecasted future cost inputs.
  • Analyze and model cost variations resulting from operational enhancements.
  • Monitor and evaluate cost variances and financial metrics, providing detailed reports and insights to management for decision-making purposes.
  • Collaboration & Support with Operations:

  • Collaborate with production teams to establish and update labor and overhead rates, ensuring alignment with operational processes.
  • Support annual cost roles and budgeting processes by providing cost projections and analysis of historical data.
  • Inventory Accuracy & Management:

  • Ensure accuracy of inventory records within the warehouse management system and flow through to financial records; resolve discrepancies.
  • Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP Systems.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information clearly to financial and non-financial stakeholders.
