Overview Count Room Supervisor This position is responsible for overseeing and supervising the activities of the drop and count team to ensure the integrity of currency counting, sorting, wrapping, and transporting, as well as ensuring compliance with Gaming Control Board regulations. Responsibilities Spend part of shift on the casino floor, and is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise levels, and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume. Moderate noise levels around moving machinery in Vault - ear protection is available. Push and pull carts weighing up to 2000 pounds (with assistance), carry bags and racks of chips, etc. Handle coin rolls and bags of tokens, as well as log slot number information. Perform daily administrative work, including scheduling, logging slot pulls, etc.; ability to use a computer keyboard, calculator, and related office equipment. Communicate effectively with customers, subordinates, co-workers, and management. Workaround moving equipment and non-toxic chemicals - proper precautions are taken. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in the hiring, training, evaluating, and motivating of drop/count team members. When necessary, document violations in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring employees receive sufficient guidance and resources to achieve established objectives. Maintain visual surveillance of personnel, ensuring prevention of monetary loss. Ensure proper operation and maintenance of count room equipment. Schedule drop/count team personnel so that the drop, count, wrapping, and transferring of currency is completed in the most effective and efficient manner. Supervise all activity within the drop and count areas, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all recorded information.Attend required training sessions offered by Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe. Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations. Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco. Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee's department. Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance. Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management. *PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES A GAMING LICENSE BY THE NEVADA GAMING CONTROL BOARD Qualifications Knowledge of currency counter/sorter equipment and handling operations, 10-Key, and basic computer skills. Knowledge of Gaming Control Board regulations. This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a high school education, in addition to a minimum of three-years experience in cashiering or the coin vault. Effective communication skills Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor Must be available for various shifts including early morning, late nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours Team Player with a guest first attitude Minimum age of 21 years old To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic math skills. Language Skills: Must be able to speak and understand English. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Constantly standing, eye/hand coordination, handling, wrist motion, hearing, speaking, seeing, reading, and bending. Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift. Constantly lifting and carrying trays up to a maximum of 15lbs. at mid body level, for distances up to a maximum of 500 ft. during shift. Frequently stooping, reaching. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes. Work with others in close spaces. Moderate noise levels. Walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet/cement.
