We're committed to creating a supportive work environment that promotes WORK-LIFE BALANCE.Position OverviewThe Counter Sales/Warehouse Associate is responsible for handling counter sales, providing product expertise and technical support to customers, including MSDS sheets and hazard information. They assist with customer orders via phone, email, or in person, resolve complaints, process credits, billing, and quotes. Warehouse duties include receiving and stocking inventory, shipping products, organizing the warehouse, conducting cycle counts, maintaining the warehouse, and performing vehicle maintenance. The associate will also operate a forklift, move stock, write and receive invoices to fulfill customer orders, and handle hazardous spills safely. Primary Responsibilities
  • Process customer sales orders via phone, email, or in person, and assist with will-call orders and stock inventory, ensuring the showroom is stocked and products are properly rotated.
  • Provide product expertise and technical assistance, including MSDS sheets and hazard identification, to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Recommend and answer customers' questions regarding product features, benefits, prices, availability, and uses based on their needs and interests.
  • Perform inside sales duties, including processing credits, billing, and price quotes to ensure accurate and efficient transactions.
  • Handle customer complaints or issues, resolving them promptly or referring unresolved matters to management for further action.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with other branches and departments, while promoting safety awareness and continuous improvement in the workplace.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate for the Counter Sales Associate position will have a high school diploma or obtained a GED. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to exercise judgment, initiative, and tact in customer interactions. A sense of ownership and pride in one's work is key, as is the ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and choose the best solutions. A professional demeanor, good command of both oral and written English, and confidentiality are required. The role involves physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs., and frequent computer use.
