Job Description :

Summary: Be proficient in all aspects of countertop installation and repair techniques, such as but not limited to seaming, polishing, sink installation, chip repairs, countertop leveling, and sealing. Possess leadership ability, and effectively communicate, and direct install helper.

Possess a high level of communication skills based on direct customer contact on daily basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Skilled in proper use of a variety of power tools, as well as hand tools, generators, and air compressors.

Perform basic carpentry functions, associated with countertop installation, and industry standards.

Maintain, and operate equipment by standards established by the manufacturer, and Viking in accordance with the operational, and maintenance manual, available for review in supervisor's office:

Loading stone on delivery trucks.

Perform simple maintenance on equipment per manual.

Proficient in the use of various measuring, and leveling devices, such as but not limited to tape measure, square, and levels.

Handling stone by hand and loading materials for customer pick-up:

Able to communicate effectively and appropriately with customers, and others within the organization:

Follow procedures established in reference to documentation, such as but not limited to checklists, customer review documents, photo records, and payment protocol when specified.

Effectively, and cordially communicate with customers, and follow proper in house procedure, such as

adult present at all times, floors covered, countertops covered and protected, and review install with customer and provide specified literature, and documentation to customer prior to leaving.

General housekeeping and safety preventative measures including but not limited to, proper pre-install preparation such as floor coverings, drip pans etc.

All installation debris and tools to be picked up, and area cleaned prior to leaving.

Proper storage, disposal, and safe keeping of tools, and equipment used in performing your job.

Clean and maintain your equipment according to instructions.

Maintain proper safety measures at the job site, and Shop, or in any capacity representing Viking Kitchens.

Follow all protocols as instructed, maintaining and completing all documents provided for any function assigned.

Report to supervisor upon arrival to the shop, hand in all appropriate paperwork and communicate any issues in writing and verbally.

Follow direction of supervisor to finish remainder of any mandatory overtime posted by assisting in shop.

Work mandatory overtime as necessary.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. -Within 45 days from start date or forklift operator training. Employee must be able to be certified

-Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs etc.

-Must know how to read a ruler and have basic math skills.

-Must be able to use a square and level

-Required to authorize background check

-Must understand and follow proper procedure when shipping or receiving materials

- Must maintain a valid CT Driver's License, medical card and maintain a good driving record in accordance with Vikings insurance carrier.

Education and/or Experience

Standard Education / HS Diploma or an acceptable combination of education, and experience

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to understand, Follow and maintain shop documents Ability to communicate effectively with employees, and managers of organization. Must be able to communicate appropriately and effectively directly with customers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures, percentages, and area. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
