Overview:Pay Range: $16.08 - $20.39 per hour (CTP Pay Plan, A11 Step 1-13)Hiring Range: $16.73 per hour (CTP Pay Plan, A11 Step 3)Job Closing Date: Open until filled.There are multiple Extra Help County Worker - Canvasser openings with the Yakima County Public Services Administrative Division. This position conducts door to door outreach in unincorporated Yakima County including delivering materials, explaining the Safe Water Initiative to residents, assisting with reading water test strip results, and tracking households contacted and responses.Benefits included in position:-Washington Paid Sick Leave

Responsibilities:Essential Duties:Conducts door to door outreach to Lower Yakima Valley households on private and shared wells.Hand writes or types data to be entered into a computer, and checks work entries for completeness and accuracy.Gathers, organizes, copies, binds, and prepares documents, files and informational packets.Pulls and files documents ensuring files remain in the proper order; routes files or documents to requesting party.Performs other duties as assigned including intercounty travel for data gathering.
Education & Experience:High School Diploma or G.E.D.
AND general combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Required: - successful completion of a general employment verification;
- valid Washington State Drivers' License and proof of insurance, if requested, at time of appointment; and,
- ability to operate a passenger vehicle.
Preferred: - Spanish fluency, both spoken and written.
Equipment Used: clipboard, pen, cell phone, computer, printer, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, digital camera, shredder and other office equipment, audiovisual equipment, GPS unit , and passenger vehicle.
Working Conditions: This position is rated as
