King County Superior Court is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Court Operations Technician II. The Court is one of the nation's largest trial courts, serving the country's 12th most populous county. Located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, King County Superior Court is nationally recognized for innovation. The court's mission is to serve the public by ensuring justice through accessible and effective forums for the fair, understandable, and timely resolution of legal matters. The responsibilities of this classification include providing administrative support to the Director, Managers, and supervisors of the division or department. The incumbent may perform a variety of functions that require expertise in all areas of the work unit. The position may be responsible for scheduling of services and perform other duties in support of daily operations. Who may apply: This position is open only to employees, including temporary employees, who are currently on the King County payroll. Applications may be placed on an eligibility list for future recruitments. Work location: This position is based at the King County Courthouse, 516 Third Avenue, in Seattle. The incumbent will be required at times to work at the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent, WA, as well as other court facilities. Work schedule and terms: This position is hourly (overtime-eligible) and subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. This is a full-time position working a 35-hour workweek. The workweek is normally Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Variations from these hours may occur based on the needs of the court. Job Duties The following duties are not intended to represent the entire functional capacity of the position at the task level. Oversee, maintain and coordinate administrative functions for Family Court Operations department Director, and in Juvenile Non-Offender and Unified Family Court. Advise customers of service issues and coordinate with appropriate staff to find resolutions. Generate reports and calendars for Juvenile Non-Offender and Unified Family Court as needed. May perform case management functions as needed. Respond to requests for information regarding policies and procedures, protocol, or standards for each of the programs within the department. Assist with research, development, and implementation of guidelines, policies, and procedures. Monitor adherence to policies and procedures; may make recommendations regarding changes or improvements to procedures or work practices. Identify and make recommendations and resolve problems. Assist in the control of expenses related to services specifically as it relates to Judicial Officer coverage for Family Court and Juvenile Non-offender calendars. May assist with preparation of financial accounts; make recommendations concerning the allocation of resources. May authorize expenditures including resolution of payment and invoice issues. Assist payroll in tracking and maintaining records for all Pro Tempore Judicial Officer coverage. Respond to requests from judicial officers; perform complex scheduling of calendar coverage assignments. Assist judicial officers with onboarding, training needs, etc. Coordinate and communicate with supervisors and managers during recruitment process; provide support for new employee onboarding. Oversee any special projects within the department.May train new employees in court processes and policies.Perform other duties of a similar nature and level. Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Associates degree and three years of experience in court procedures and processes; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
