Position Overview:

The Covert Protection Agent (CovPro) plays a critical role in a multi-layered protective security strategy, working seamlessly alongside Security Drivers, Executive Protection Agents, and the Residential Security Team to safeguard clients, their families, employees, and assets. This role requires a highly skilled professional with experience in executive protection, covert surveillance, surveillance detection, and extremely low signature protective advance surveys.

Operating in a discreet, non-obtrusive manner, the CovPro Agent provides covert protection coverage while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and situational awareness. The ideal candidate possesses extensive field experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate independently in both domestic and international environments.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $55 to $65 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide covert protection coverage for principals, guests, employees, and designated locations while adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct covert advance surveys, identifying vulnerabilities and documenting findings for dissemination to the protective services team.
  • Conduct surveillance detection operations at client residences, offices, and events to identify potential threats.
  • Perform daily covert protection duties as assigned, ensuring a proactive security posture.
  • Support all other protective services teams, including security drivers, EP agents, and residential security personnel.
  • Monitor and maintain situational awareness while blending seamlessly into various environments.
  • Respond to security incidents, alarms, and emergency situations, coordinating with local authorities when necessary.
  • Perform vehicle checks (fuel, maintenance, readiness) to support security operations.
  • Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive information in accordance with corporate policies and security protocols.
  • Document security incidents through detailed reports, photographs, and witness statements.
  • Maintain all assigned equipment, including vehicles, medical supplies, and communication devices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a security role within government, military, law enforcement, or private security.
  • Experience in Executive Protection and Covert Protection operations.
  • Graduate of a reputable Executive Protection Course.
  • Graduate of a reputable Security Driving Course.
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively report incidents and coordinate operations.
  • Experience working within a cross-functional security team in high-risk or dynamic environments.
  • Ability to safeguard confidential information and operate with discretion.
  • California BSIS Guard Card (current).
  • California BSIS Exposed Firearms Permit (current).
  • California CCW Permit (current).
  • Valid U.S. Passport (required for international
  • travel).
  • Valid State Driver's License (required for travel and operational duties).
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    Technical Skills

    • Background in intelligence, surveillance detection, and/or behavioral threat assessment.
    • Advanced training or experience in advance work, defensive driving, de-escalation tactics, and emergency response.
    • Foreign language proficiency in operationally relevant regions.

    • Strong cognitive skills, including critical thinking, rapid decision-making, and strategic problem-solving.
    • Ability to analyze complex security situations and implement effective risk-mitigation strategies.
    • High-level situational awareness to anticipate potential threats and vulnerabilities.

    • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills under stress.
