Job Description :

Our client is searching for a Craft Coordinator in the Houston, TX area. The Craft Coordinator will focus on managing and supporting craft (non-exempt) labor for the construction group. This role is critical to streamlining craft onboarding, compliance, and staffing processes to improve project timelines and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Craft Requisition & Recruiting:

  • Manage craft requisition processes and lead recruiting efforts for skilled and general craft labor.

Onboarding & Orientation:

  • Facilitate the onboarding process, including documentation, orientation, and timely integration of craft labor into project teams.

Wage Rates & Per Diem Management:

  • Set craft wage rates, establish per diem guidelines, and validate eligibility.

Skill Level Tracking & Database Management:

  • Record, monitor, and update craft skill levels, maintaining a performance tracking database.

Staffing Transitions:

  • Oversee internal transfers of craft labor between projects, ensuring a smooth process.

Training Coordination:

  • Coordinate craft training programs, including Operator Qualifications (OQs), NCCER certifications, equipment operator training, and physicals.

Craft Evaluations & Terminations:

  • Conduct evaluations for craft workers and supervisors, manage termination documentation, and handle post-termination evaluations.

Craft Benefits & Compliance:

  • Manage personnel files, enforce absentee and reprimand policies, oversee benefits administration, and ensure compliance with HR policies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of Craft Coordinator experience in an industrial construction environment, with hands-on involvement in managing craft labor.
  • Strong knowledge of labor compliance, onboarding processes, wage rates, and per diem management.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
