Job Info Position: Crane Operator Location: Nescopeck, PA Travel: open to regional travel We are currently looking for a Crane Operator to join our team at our Nescopeck, PA project. Reporting to direct field supervision, the Crane Operator is responsible for proficiently and safely operating all required equipment. He or She should be able to work independently as well as be able to communicate effectively. This position works along with the entire Project Team to support the completion of assigned construction projects and ensures all plans move forward to meet projected deadlines in a safe manner. This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction. This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor. Wagman Heavy Civil Inc's core competencies include design-build, infrastructure, marine construction, modified concrete, grooving and grinding and geotechnical construction services. Job Requirements: NCCCO certification A minimum of three (3) years of experience operating heavy equipment including hydraulic and friction truck and/or crawler (i.e., 18-ton to 100-ton capacity). Prefer experience in pile driving, concrete pouring, clamming and hook work (lifting); also, prefer experience in excavating and grading work using backhoes and loaders. Job Duties: Manipulate or depress hand and/or foot controls including pedals, levers, and buttons to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal and/or hand signal instructions. Observe load hookup and determine safety of load. Direct the placing of cribbing for outrigger to prevent capsizing. Perform preventative maintenance - clean, lubricate and maintain crane and hoisting mechanism. Inspect crane daily for defective parts and record date and malfunction in a log. Read and interpret the load charts to determine the safe operating capacity. Direct the set up and dismantling of the crane Must also be able to drive pile. Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level.
  • Must be able to sit for up to 3-4 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to climb into cab of equipment and climb down from the equipment cab
  • Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl to perform essential tasks including maintenance and inspection of equipment
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands
  • Must have the ability to work on uneven surfaces.
  • Required to have acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing
  • Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
