The Crate and Barrel Brand Chief of Staff owns the execution of strategic business initiatives and projects, from development through successful completion, under the guidance of the Brand President; assists and communicates with executives in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation; reviews, designs, and executes improvements to organizational structure; and improves current processes and optimizes organizational procedures for efficiency and productivity.

This position reports to the President of Crate and Barrel and is based out of our Corporate Office in Northbrook, IL.

A day in the life as Crate and Barrel Brand Chief of Staff

* Work with Brand President and other company executives to define, oversee, lead and successfully execute large, cross-functional projects and initiatives

* Advise Brand President on strategic direction and initiatives, providing analysis and recommendations

* Provide ongoing updates to a range of stakeholders on strategy work, projects, proposals, and planning

* Develop and build relationships with all employees, creating an open door for feedback and improvement for increased efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations

* Lead structure and execution of routine meetings, brand internal and external correspondence, and corporate and board meetings

* Create and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations and ultimately make time, information, and decision-making more effective

* Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of communications.

* Strong data analysis skills and budget management experience

* Seasoned ability to be courageous and push back appropriately, when needed

* Consulting experience, with a focus on operations management

* Proven success in a project and process management

* Nimble business mind, focused on developing creative solutions

* Strong project-reporting skills, with focus on interdepartmental communications

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Versatile abilities and extreme dedication to efficient productivity

We'd love to hear from you if you have

* Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in business administration or similar field

* 10+ years of experience in a business management or executive role

* 5+ years of experience in retail, specifically merchandising and/or planning

* Experience in influencing, organizing and directing multiple teams and departments

* Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives
