In 2025, we will be adding Victory Brewing in Tysons, VA and Two Roads Kitchen + Tap in West Hartford, CT to our group of restaurants as we team up with local brewers in support of our northeast expansion. JOB DESCRIPTION The multi-functional Creative Designer role involves aspects of game design, graphic design, scenic design, lighting/sound design, and creative project management, at all stages of the process from concept inception to realization. This is a working design role, with the Creative Designer responsible for the hands-on execution of finished solutions and guest experiences, whether digital or physical, in a variety of media, as well as managing internal and external resources to complete assigned scopes of work. All Level99 employees are passionate about getting the details right, anticipating staff and guest needs, and advancing the Level99 brand. The Creative Designer has honesty and personal integrity that is above reproach, prefers a joyful and positive approach to challenging situations, chooses humility over the need to be right, and in all things acts as though s/he is the Owner and Operator of each Level99 venue. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create high quality, original production graphics and visual assets
- Create rapid early concepts and previsualization, both 2D & 3D
- Develop concepts from creative briefs, taking them from early concept exploration, to sketches, to detailed drawings, production assets, etc.
- Create presentation documents and accurate bid/scope documents for creative and technical items. Designs and documentation may be required to be executed in 2D or 3D digital environments and design/CAD software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Blender, etc.)
- Ideate, develop, and perform detailed design for new content in collaboration with project management, engineering, software, construction, and other Creative Team members. New content could include games and challenges, scenic designs, immersive art experiences, venue design, lighting design, sound design, creative writing, presentations, mockups, marketing materials, and much more.
- Regularly attend and contribute to design and planning meetings, including scheduling those meetings when appropriate and keeping projects on track
- Prototype new games and concepts, including testing with players as needed
- Maintain schedules, estimate time hours required to complete assignments, and provide regular check-ins to review the status of projects and deliverables
- Complete administrative tasks associated with a successful professional role including: hours/timesheet/cost reporting, documenting costs, and maintaining a prioritized list of tasks
- Keep individual workspaces, and the building as a whole, clean, organized, and efficient
- Prioritize personal safety and the safety of coworkers and guests in the day-to-day execution of duties
- Identify and interface with external contractors and suppliers to complete creative development, artistic, and content creation tasks
- Display skill in leading and navigating hard conversations and show skill, grace, maturity, and decisiveness in relationships with subordinates and co-workers
- Take initiative, seeing what needs to be done and assembling the resources to accomplish self-determined goals, in continual pursuit of improvement of our guest experience and development process
- Continuously uphold Level99 brand and visual standards across all parts of the business, including product, experience, graphic design, and display standards, as well as environmental cleanliness and organization
- Follow the direction of supervisors and manage time effectively
- Maintain a positive, upbeat, pro-active attitude and inspire the same in co-workers

MUST-HAVE SKILLS
- 2+ years relevant experience (graphic design, production design, 3D design, scenic design, illustration, etc)
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects in particular)
- Proficiency with Blender or similar Modeling, Layout, Lighting, Rendering, etc solutions
- Familiarity with After Effects or similar motion graphics solutions
- Strong eye for visual design
- Ability to self-manage time and resources in a low-oversight environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- High integrity and professionalism
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced, ever changing work environment
- Understands, utilizes and embraces new technology and its implementation into our operation, with specific knowledge in, but not limited to, Microsoft Office
- A positive, joyful, upbeat and energetic attitude - leading by example
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which may include days, nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to travel periodically as required for site visits or installing new venues
- Able to work ten hour-plus shifts, plus ability to stand, sit, squat or walk for extended periods of time, walk up and down stairs/ladders
- Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings, manuals, and instructions
- Able to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift and carry up to 50 pounds
OTHER DESIRABLE (BUT NOT NECESSARY) SKILLS & EXPERIENCE INCLUDE
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- Familiarity with creating large-scale print files
- Traditional painting & fabrication experience, along with a familiarity with standard materials, finishes, and fabrication methods
