The Credentialing Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that our healthcare providers are properly credentialed and licensed according to regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include the organization, maintenance, and verification of all aspects of the credentialing process for existing and newly onboarded providers including licensing and renewal for multi-states, CME tracking and deadlines, maintain insurance coverage for providers and keeping providers current on remaining certification requirements as needed. The Credentialing Coordinator will maintain an up-to-date provider database to ensure that all healthcare providers are licensed, insured and properly credentialed according to regulatory guidelines. Preferred candidates will be reliable, energetic, and have excellent people skills.
Job Responsibilities:
• Process initial credentialing and re-credentialing applications including verifying healthcare provider information and licensing, conducting background checks, and ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met.
• Maintain accurate physician and provider privileging files and ensure that all required approvals are received before granting clinical privileges.
• Collect information from the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB), the applicant and their malpractice insurer, and other relevant sources
• Identify discrepancies in information and conduct follow-ups
• Communicate with healthcare providers and external agencies regarding licensing and credentialing requirements, and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business or related field preferred
• 2+ years of credentialing experience with hospital medical staff
• NAMSS Certification as a Certified Professional Medical Services Manager (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentials Specialist (CPCS) preferred
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and be able to prioritize tasks
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
• Ability to focus for extended periods Job
