Position Summary: As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will provide direct and indirect clinical services to patients requiring behavioral health interventions in our Emergency Departments. This role requires delivering age-appropriate assessments and treatments for a diverse population with varied needs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Crisis triage and assessment
  • Individual and family interventions
  • Case management and community collaboration
  • Patient and family education
  • Insurance verification and treatment planning
  • Placement to appropriate levels of care
  • Education/Certification: A Master's Degree and licensure in a Behavioral Health field (LCSW, Licensed APRN, or PhD) is required. Certification in CPI de-escalation techniques must be obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained thereafter. CPI training will be provided by ECHN.

    Competencies: This role demands strong clinical skills and effective teamwork. Essential competencies include:

    • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Outlook
    • Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment and community resources
    • Ability to multitask in a dynamic work environment
    • Swift and efficient response to patient emergencies

    • Documenting interactions and treatments thoroughly and accurately
    • Effectively managing potentially violent situations in line with training
    • Participating in emergency response codes
