This position has shift differential pay, +$1 for hours worked from 3PM-11PM, +$1.75 for hours worked from 11PM to 7AM, and an additional $1 for any weekend work. Available shift to be discussed during the interview phase.
Make a difference! Exciting opportunity providing mental health crisis stabilization services located in Manhattan, KS and serving a ten-county area. Crisis Stabilization provides 24/7 care to adults in mental health crisis at our newly designed facility. The service provides assessments, crisis intervention, referrals and coordination of care as well as being able to admit and care for adults for up to ten days. Team members will provide therapeutic programming, basic care, monitoring and ensuring a safe, healing environment while transitioning back to community-based services. Team members will also serve the community taking crisis telephone calls and troubleshooting situations and circumstances. Additionally, all team members provide ancillary services for the upkeep and running of the facility.
Mental Health Technicians will provide the foundation of minute-to-minute care, Crisis Case Managers who will coordinate care, and Qualified Mental Health Professionals who will provide clinical assessment and interventions. Flexibility and cohesiveness of all roles is required. Team members must expect changes in processes and procedures as we will continually strive to improve to provide the best care. Fluidity in roles and responsibilities is required. Excellent customer service is expected. Previous experiences in an inpatient or residential setting is helpful.
Essential Job Functions:
Crisis Triage: Gathering information about the client via phone or face to face and referring to the appropriate resource to handle the problem such as a same day appointment with a licensed therapist Emergency room at local hospital, same day appointment at local office, welfare checks, diagnostic evaluation, etc.
Provide support to other providers both in and out of the office, as well as provide support to other community entities who are dealing with an adult or child and need the assistance of crisis stabilization services to help with the crisis.
Make follow up calls to consumers who fail to show for post crisis follow-up appointments or who may be needing extra contact in order to effectively cope with a current Crisis.
After a QMHP has completed an evaluation, assist in coordinating access to the appropriate level of care.
Collaborate with other Pawnee team members and other outside providers in the coordination of appropriate services.
Will help maintain the inner workings of the Crisis Stabilization Center which includes but not limited to, general care and support of consumers, daily operations, and housekeeping of the unit.
Will support other staff members as needed which will be outside of typical job duties.
Will provide individual, group, and family services with consumers.
Staff able to assess, make decisions, and are willing provide de-escalating skills in intense situations.
Are able to carry out all job duties with minimal supervision.
Will complete the annual health screening requirements.
Will be certified in Basic CPR, First Aid and CPI.
Will also be required to:
* Meet and comply with expected administrative and clinical documentation requirements.
* Meet direct service expectations and comply with other established productivity standards as established.
* Attend and actively participate in clinical supervision and program staffing. Provide input to supervisors and other treatment team members regarding clinical and program issues.
* Coordinate services between agencies on behalf of the client.
Other Job Functions:
* Complete a state approved Case Management Training specific to the focus of the position.
* Work cooperatively with the Crisis Stabilization Team and other members of the staff in sharing resources and expertise in pursuit of the agency's mission.
* Maintain knowledge and skills related to field of work through regular review of written materials and attendance at training events.
* Adhere to the standards, policies and instructions established by PMHS Policy and Procedure and any applicable ethical codes within field of employment.
