CT Technician (Nights)

Location: Chicago, IL

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate CT Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for operating computerized tomography (CT) equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images and ensure patient safety and comfort. You will be a vital part of a dedicated team, providing exceptional service to patients ranging from infancy to geriatrics.

Schedule

  • Shift: Overnight (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Shift Differential: Provided for overnight hours
  • Weekends: Required every other weekend

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CT equipment to capture diagnostic images of internal organs and tissues.
  • Position patients appropriately to obtain accurate scans of specified areas.
  • Conduct regular warm-up sequences on CT scanners to maintain equipment performance and prolong the life of X-ray tubes.
  • Sterilize radiologic equipment to ensure patient safety.
  • Accurately interpret doctors' scanning instructions to perform procedures.
  • Administer radiocontrast agents to enhance the visibility of internal structures as required.
  • Evaluate CT scans for technical quality and identify any need for rescheduling.
  • Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients and offer reassurance and support as needed.
  • Adhere to safety standards and protocols to minimize risks associated with radiologic procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Radiology Director or Lead CT Technologist.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • High school diploma and either a bachelor's or associate's degree in radiologic technology.
  • Valid state license to practice as a CT Technologist.
  • Proven experience as a CT Technologist.
  • Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and operate technical equipment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to support patients during procedures.
