Position: Culinary Artisans Term FacultyStatus: Term Faculty, Full-Time, ExemptDepartment: Culinary ManagementReports to: Professor, Culinary ArtsSalary: $20,000.00 per SemesterDescription: Paul Smith's College seeks candidates for a TERM appointment to the faculty in the Culinary Management Department for the Spring 2025 semester. The successful candidate will be a talented culinary professional with a passion for college-level teaching and learning. Strong interpersonal skills are a must, as are the ability to work well in teams and to communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and external constituencies. Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Teaching the full range of culinary labs.
  • Assessing and improving student learning.
  • Contributing to curriculum planning and development.
  • Assist with other duties as needed or assigned by the Professor of Culinary Arts.
Qualifications and Preferences: Minimum
  • An Associate of Culinary Arts, or the completion of an accredited apprenticeship/master's program in the culinary field.
  • A minimum of three years' experience as an Executive Chef or Assistant Executive Chef or Pastry Chef.
  • A record of success in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse community of traditional students and adult learners in a hands-on laboratory teaching environment.
  • Ability to work with a broad range of diverse individuals and groups to form a safe and inclusive workplace.
Preferred
  • An advanced degree in a related field.
  • Extensive industry experience in a supervisory or managerial position.
  • Professional certifications (example: American Culinary Federation).
  • Post secondary teaching experience, including the use of computer applications for food service operations and classroom instruction.
