UW Medical Center-Northwest - Food and Nutrition has outstanding opportunity for a Culinary Associate.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Per Diem, Variable hours and shifts
  • Days

The anticipated start date for this position is March 2024. The Center for Behavioral Health and Learning will open to patients in spring 2024.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

Produces/prepares, presents, and serves food items by following specifications on production sheets, standardized menus, computerized recipes, verbal instructions, patients' prescribed diet orders, or customer requests.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produces/prepares, presents, and serves food items by following specifications on production sheets, standardized menus, computerized recipes, verbal instructions, patients' prescribed diet orders, or customer requests.
  • Maintains sanitary working conditions and practices approved food safety procedures, stores food and food supplies according to HACCP procedures.
  • Maintains and documents temperatures of all food items and equipment.
  • Takes temperatures, documents and files data to be stored for hot and cold foods.
  • Cleans and sanitizes production and storage work areas.
  • Coordinates production and provision of appropriate meal items with café, catering, and patient care staff.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment AND one year of experience preparing and serving food and maintaining clean work area; or equivalent education/experience.
