Position DetailsPosition Information Position Title Cumberland Mountain Research Center Internship Department CMRC Position Category Staff Part Time Job DescriptionRequired Qualifications Currently enrolled as conservation biology, or conservation biology (wildlife) with a minimum 2.75 overall GPA. Positive, hands-on attitude with a willingness to learn Ability to lift 50lbs and work outside in extreme weather conditions including freezing temperatures, snow, humidity, and heat. Ability to work hands-on with wildlife Must be reliable with excellent time management and organizational skills. Must have access to own form of transportation Ability to follow instructions and then work independently to complete tasks or job assignments. Creativity and problem-solving skills Ability to recognize tasks to be done and the initiative to complete those tasks Communicative work style with strong interpersonal and collaborative-work ethic. Ability to collect and organize data from multiple projects concurrently Familiarity with various wildlife/environmental data collection techniques and research methodsPreferred Qualifications Demonstrated technical writing skills Ability to complete a scientific literature review on subject of study PS/orienteering/compass skills Basic knowledge of Appalachian Wildlife and Fish, including invertebrates, and Natural History including geology and plants Ability to identify fish and wildlife, including invertebrates in the field in the field and/or willingness to develop or improve identification skills. Coursework in mammalogy, herpetology, ornithology, entomology, invertebrate, and/or ichthyology.
