With five years experience in custodial or equivalent, the Building Captain will generally be assigned the responsibility of a larger campus building that requires more than one custodial person, have greater independence, be responsible for managing the daily workflow of the building, serve as the direct contact person for building occupants and visitors, be responsible for other peoples work, as well as the overall stewardship for the building. Perform routine manual work in cleaning and maintaining stock supplies in Siena College buildings as assigned by the immediate supervisor. In addition, minor maintenance tasks (i.e. change light bulbs, tighten loose screws/bolts, repair building cleaning machinery and the like), shovel snow and sweep entrances, police the immediate exterior building envelope, clean and clear outside patios, decks, and doormats, change and clean outside trash and smoking receptacles, water flowers. Learn, follow and familiarize themselves with all procedures outlined by the immediate supervisor. Work courteously and cooperatively with residents, occupants, staff, administrators and guests. Communicate information and needed repairs to immediate supervisor and the service desk and follow up on repair items that are placed to see that they are completed.

Salary: $19.54/ hour

Requirements:

This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to stand for long periods, climb, bend, stoop, move furniture and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. A high school diploma or significant related experience, and three or more years' experience are also required.

A background screening will be required.
