Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Knowledge and ability in modern cleaning methods, cleaning materials, and equipment.
- Knowledge of requirements for maintaining school buildings in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
- Ability to perform heavy physical labor.
- Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees, staff and students.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions with limited supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Job Standards
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of district facilities and equipment including:
- Concrete, linoleum, tile and wood floors
- Rugs and carpet
- Walls, furniture, woodwork and equipment
- Grounds, including walkways and entrances
- Restrooms, including stocking supplies
- Windows, doors and railings
- Drinking fountains
- Chalkboards
- Waste containers
- Sinks
- Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as required.
- Report fire, safety, and sanitary hazards. Respond to emergency situations, such as shutting-off fire alarm, gas, or water valves, as necessary.
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments to building fixtures and equipment.
- Assist with securing school grounds, including closing windows, turning off lights, and locking doors.
- Maintain custodial equipment and supplies.
- Notifysupervisors of necessary equipment repairs.
- Perform duties safely, while observing prescribed safety methods, procedures and policies of the Facility Operations Department.
