Position Type: Maintenance/CustodialDate Posted: 12/9/2024Location: DISTRICT WIDEClosing Date: 01/03/2025 POSITION TITLE: Custodial Support 2 STATUS: Full Time - 12 months (260 days), 8 hours/day with 30 minute unpaid lunch break DEPARTMENT: Building and Grounds EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Non-Exempt CATEGORY: Support REPORTS TO: Custodial Administrator Director of Operations SUPERVISES: Custodial 1 MINIMUM PAY RATE: $ 15.45/hour General Responsibilities/Job Summary: Duties involve performing building cleaning and moving furniture and supplies. Assignments are generally stable in nature and are carried out in accordance with instructions and precedents, practices, and procedures. Work involves on-call responsibility, occasional weekend hours, physical effort, and exposure to the elements and potential work hazards. Essential Functions/Duties:
- Support District custodial needs
- Handle custodial inventory of areas
- Support warehouse and set up for special events on an as needed basis
- Attend work regularly and on time and complete assigned tasks
- Support Fieldhouse area on an as needed basis
Additional Duties:
- Assist with shoveling snow and salting sidewalks
- Correct or report all maintenance issues, fire hazards, or safety issues to the supervisor immediately
- Perform minor equipment repairs and report major equipment repairs
- Operate standard office equipment; file
- Answer telephone questions
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, crouch, crawl, reach, lean, handle, finger, feel, talk, hear, see, push, pull, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs or more
- Some knowledge of manual laboring principles and practices
- Some knowledge of mechanical and laboring hazards and related safety precautions
- Some knowledge of computer principles and practices
- Willingness to attend and participate in job specific and safety training
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Understand and follow oral and written procedures, directives, and instructions
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to care for, and properly use, light automotive and material movement tools
- Ability to perform minor equipment maintenance
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with associates, school staff, vendors and suppliers
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work and in working relations with associates, district staff and vendors
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education and Training: High School Diploma;
- Experience: one year of custodial experience or any equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience
- Required Certification/Licenses: Valid PA driver's license
