Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Custodial Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Plattsburgh, NY, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for all employees.
In a typical day, your expertise:
* Cleans offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, and other work areas, providing ongoing cleaning such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning of mirrors and toilets, etc.
* Establishes cleaning cycle for less frequently needed cleaning, such as windows, windowsills, walls, doors, shampooing of carpets, etc.
* Empties trash and recycling bins, as needed
* Disinfects commonly used items like door handles, coffee maker, microwave, etc.
* Assists with special cleaning projects and tasks as assigned, e.g., employee luncheons
* Monitors and maintains cleaning equipment for repairs and prevention of potential safety hazards
* Maintains cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products as needed in conjunction with NTI procurement procedures
* Adheres to and promotes applicable Policies, Procedures, Safety Rules & Regulations and Security Guidelines and performs other duties and responsibilities as required for the successful operation of business

Were thrilled to find candidates with:
* High school diploma or GED preferred
* Familiarity with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment, including cleaning products and tools
* Demonstrated familiarity with and understanding of Safety Data Sheets particularly as related to chemical cleaning supplies
* Conversational understanding of the English language
* Basic mathematics and computer skills, including ability to receive and send emails
Other competencies critical to success include:
* Ability to work independently in a non-structured manner
* Ability to take assigned tasks and complete with minimal direction
* Excellent verbal communication skills
* Team player- must be able and willing to assist across functions as needed
* Understanding of safety protocols and procedures with a safety-focused mindset
* Willingness to adhere to and promote the NTi values of gld, collaboration, creative curiosity, trust, respect, and integrity
Physical Requirements:
* The ability to stand/walk on concrete floors for 4 or more hours during the course of a day
* Ability to lift 30 lbs. with or without assistance.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to feel objects, tools and controls.
* Good vision with or without corrective devices
* The ability to lift, bend, stoop, and walk up and down stairs and ladders regularly.
