Custodian- Evening Shift, Part-Time - Foxdale Village Corporation : Job Details

About us:

Foxdale Village, a life plan community guided by Quaker values, is a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in State College, PA. Foxdale Village was founded on the values of treating every person with dignity and respect and actively strives to create an engaging and welcoming environment for all. We are seeking a part-time Custodian to join our caring and dedicated team. This position generally works 20 hours per week during the hours of 3pm-11:30pm. This position work schedule includes shifts every other weekend as well as participating in rotating holidays work schedule.

Custodian Job Duties include:

• Perform assigned janitorial duties (e.g., sweeping, mopping and vacuuming, trash removal) of various facility areas, according to schedule
• Clean restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
• Complete laundry tasks as required
• Make campus rounds and respond to incidents as needed to ensure resident and staff security
• Note maintenance issues and complete work orders as needed.
• Perform campus rounds according to schedule
• Secure community building in the evening
• Assist with snow removal and de-ice as needed
• Perform other environmental services duties as needed/assigned by supervisor
• Transport residents to and from the hospital as directed by Health Services.
• Maintain punctuality and regular, predictable attendance in order to meet the nightly janitorial and security needs of the facility.

Education: High school diploma or its equivalent is strongly preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one-year of related experience (particularly on a evening shift) is preferred.

Language: Must be able to effectively communicate in English.

Math: Must be able to complete tasks using basic mathematical skills.

Licenses/Certifications: Must possess a valid PA Driver's License.

Physical Requirements of the Position:

Specific physical characteristics and abilities are required to perform the work, such as agility, dexterity and long periods of walking, standing, bending, carrying or lifting supplies and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds (with assistance when needed). This position requires the completion of mostly non-sedentary work.
