Salary: $4,110.00 - $4,994.00 Monthly Location : Aberdeen, WA Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 2024.09.04 Department: Public Works - Building Division: Building Opening Date: 09/04/2024 Closing Date: 9/30/2024 3:59 PM Pacific Description The Custodian I performs a variety of custodial, housekeeping, and general maintenance tasks to provide clean, sanitary, and safe conditions in City buildings. This position reports to the Operations and Maintenance Manager, who assigns daily tasks and workstations, sometimes by written order. Examples of Duties Clean various buildings, offices, lunch, and meeting rooms. Clean and sanitize restrooms and toilet facilities, keeping them fully stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other items. Sweep, mop, scrub, wax and polish floors, walls, and woodwork; dusts furniture and equipment; empties and cleans wastebaskets, trash, and recycle containers; polishes furniture and metal fixtures, washes windows, vacuums carpets and rugs. Performs minor maintenance and repair work such as unskilled painting, cleaning air vents, replacing light bulbs, faucet washers, and toilet tank floats. Maintains inventory of equipment, products, and cleaning supplies. May assist in moving furniture and equipment or arrange tables and chairs for special events. Ensure tasks on checklist are completed in a timely manner. Performs other duties as assigned. Typical QualificationsDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: cleaning equipment and agents. Ability to: work with minimal supervision; be proficient with handling basic maintenance repairs. Must be able to work weekends and after business hours when required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma, and valid Washington State Driver's License is required. Ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
