Custodian II | Starting $13.64 to $17.05 Per Hour (Depending on Experience). Custodian II Job Responsibilities:
  • Empty wastebaskets and garbage containers.
  • Dust furniture & equipment weekly.
  • Sweep and vacuum floors daily.
  • Clean bathrooms daily.
  • Mop, wax, and buff floors weekly.
  • Wash sills and floorboards weekly.
  • Wash windows weekly.
  • Assists with moving products throughout warehouse and within building and facility grounds.
  • Set up tables and chairs in halls and meeting rooms as needed.
  • Notifies management regarding need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
  • Cuts and trims grass and shrubbery around buildings using hand tools and power equipment.
  • Remove snow and debris from sidewalks and parking areas around buildings.
  • Will utilize UMOS vehicles to transport furniture, equipment, and other materials.
  • Train and supervise work experience participants.
  • Perform special projects and other related duties as needed, attend meetings, conferences, and workshops as assigned.
Custodian II Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of custodial experience.
  • Knowledge of cleaning materials and compounds.
  • Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment including but not limited to vacuum cleaner, floor buffer, pallet jack, forklift, other tools, and power tools applicable.
  • Ability to perform light physical labor with occasional lifting of at least 40 lb.
  • Demonstrate the ability to receive and accept written and verbal instruction and direction.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and safely & accurately follow written instructions on supplies containers, equipment manuals, and product literature.
  • Ability to correctly interpret and use devices and tools for measurement, such as tape measures, volume measurement containers, and time clocks.
  • Ability to perform simple computations correctly, i.e., addition, subtraction, division, in activities such as calculating spatial area.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to relate to other employees and UMOS clients in providing a clean, safe, and comfortable working environment.
  • Able to work irregular hours.
  • Have a valid driver's license and be insurable in accordance with Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
