Review more information at BNL | Benefits Program Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Under general supervision, performs general cleaning and housekeeping duties in all Laboratory buildings. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: •Requires a High School diploma, GED, or higher. •Must have 1-year prior commercial cleaning experience in stripping and waxing floors. •Must have commercial carpet cleaning experience. •Must have the ability to operate commercial cleaning machines. •Must have the ability to work 07:00-15:30 or 12:00 -20:30. •Must possess a valid NYS driver's license. Preferred: •Experience with team cleaning. •Experience with green chemicals. Other Requirements: •Must be able to work/cooperate in a team environment. •Ability to climb portable ladders. •Ability to use a vacuum backpack. •Must be able to complete all required training within the 3 months' probation period. •Must have a telephone and must provide the number to BNL for callout and contact purposes. •Must possess written and verbal skills. •Must be capable of following written instruction procedures, work orders, and similar documents. •Must possess the writing skills to sufficiently complete work orders and other required documents. •Must be able to communicate verbally with customers, fellow workers, and supervisors. •Must be able to complete all the requirements of the Job Training Assessment. Environmental, Health, and Safety Considerations: •Standing, bending, and lifting for a prolong period of time. •Moderate lifting < 30 lbs. •Heavy lifting > 30 lbs. •Work in warm environments. •Work around moving machinery. •Physical coordination dexterity and balance. •Use of powered operating hand-tools. •Exposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes, and dust. •Ability to maintain respirator qualifications. •Ability to wear proper PPE such as safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection.
