POSITION OPENING: Custodian -- OSTC NWIN THIS ROLE:Join our team as a Custodian and be a vital part of creating a clean, safe, and vibrant school environment!You'll be responsible for daily cleaning tasks while assisting with waste management, snow removal, and occasional painting. Additionally, you'll help us ensure building security by locking up at the end of each shift, contributing to a secure and efficient learning space!WHAT WE NEED:An energetic team member to work collaboratively with maintenance staff in maintaining a safe and clean learning environment at the Oakland Schools Technical Campus -- NW.Sweep, mop, vacuum floors, clean sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains, dust, clean and polish fixtures, scrub and disinfect restrooms and floors daily.Washing windows both inside and out.Assists with painting and complies with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish and waste.Always assist with building security and at the end of the work shift you will assist in locking up the building.WHAT YOU NEED:High school diploma or equivalent.1 to 3 years recent and relevant work experience preferred.Ability to continuously stand/walk/bend/reach/stoop/kneel/crouch/lift, climb ladders, lift and transport heavy items up to 30 pounds, and properly operate tools/equipment necessary to perform required repairs.Work involves regular exposure to cleaning solutions and disinfectants as well as exposure to dust, dirt, tight spaces, offensive odors, dampness, hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment, adverse weather conditions, etc. when performing maintenance and repair work.Familiarity with ready safety data sheets preferredSALARY DETAILS:$18.59 - $20.34 hourly based on relevant prior work experience, with the potential to earn up to $21.04 after employment with Oakland Schools.Non-Exempt position / 12-month work year* *WORK LOCATION:Oakland Schools Technical Campus -- Northwest8211 Big Lake RoadClarkston, MI 48346* *WHY WORK FOR OS?Oakland Schools offers a great benefits package for our employees!
