Job Description :

This is an evening shift Monday through Friday from 4:30PM-12:30AM.

This is work supervising and assisting custodian 3s, custodian 2s and custodian 1 s in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitary conditions and appearance of the School of Dentistry buildings under the direction of the Custodian Supervisor B.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

Must be available to serve as sole operator for assigned shift work during evenings, overnight, weekend and holidays.

Must be available for emergency response (on-call) after regular working hours and during holidays.

Must have a valid Class E driver's license.

Knowledge of general institutional cleaning and disinfecting procedures.

Knowledge of clinical cleaning and disinfecting procedures.

Knowledge of the operation and use of commercial-grade housekeeping equipment.

Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.

Skill in performing disinfecting procedures.

Skill in the operation and use of commercial-grade housekeeping equipment.

Skill in applying supervisory principles and practices.

Ability to operate and maneuver high speed buffers, scrubbers and other assigned floor care equipment.

Ability to requisition, distribute and monitor use of supplies and materials.

Ability to supervise people.

Ability to determine work priorities, assign work and insure proper completion of work assignments.

Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.

Ability to maintain accurate records.

Ability to understand and apply LSUHSC rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stopping, kneeling and walking significant distances between and within

buildings on campus.

Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges between the interiors and exteriors of the buildings.

Visual ability, corrected, to observe dangerous situations in the work area (such as wet floors) in order to redirect people

to avoid injuries.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Ability to communicate information effectively, in English, both verbally and in writing.
