Senior Customs Broker / General Manager

We have an immediate opening for an experienced, hands-on General Manager to join our client in New Jersey/Metrolitan New York area. The company, a mid-sized company specializing in customs brokerage services, assists clients in navigating the complexities of international trade regulations, with its commitment to efficiency, reliability and compliance,

Job functions and responsibilities include :

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations (Operational Leadership)
• Drive strategic objectives of the company
• Report to the President
• Lead and manage company to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to clients (Client Relationship Management)
• Develop the team and manage recruitment (Team Development and Talent Management)
• Responsible for Regulatory Compliance
• Responsible for Financial Management

Your Profile:

• Licensed Customs Broker preferred
• Proven track record of leader and management experience in the customs brokerage and/or logistics industry
• Knowledge of import operation and customs brokerage, customs procedures, and entry writing procedures, including ABI/ACE usage, local/remote, air/ocean, full load and loose freight
• Understanding tariff classifications of various general merchandise and customs valuations
• Familiarity with customs regulations and compliance, other government agencies import procedures and requirements, especially on PGA (FDA/USDA) procedures and requirements
